Springfield post of the American Legion, Post 123, known as the Greenspring Post. Part of the Seventeenth District of the Department of Virginia. Chartered in 2010. Meeting entirely inside the 2,000-resident Greenspring Village retirement community, the post marked America's 250th with the local DAR chapter on July 2, 2026, including a ceremonial cake-cutting using a sword owned by past Post Commander Vance Morrison. Reported 83 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Call the post for details.
