Buena Vista post of the American Legion, Post 126, known as the Floyd-Davidson Post. Part of the Fourteenth District of the Department of Virginia. The post's hall, the Buena Vista War Memorial Building, is a 7,000-square-foot cinderblock-and-brick structure dedicated December 31, 1954, built by contractor W.W. Coffey & Sons of Lexington and financed by bonds sold to Post 126's own members; it honors area veterans of WWI through the Persian Gulf War. Reported 72 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Reach the post through its Facebook page.
