Stanardsville post of the American Legion, Post 128, known as the Greene County Post. Part of the Thirteenth District of the Department of Virginia. Established in 1933, the post runs a recurring flea market fundraiser out of its Stanardsville hall (active through July 2026 per its Facebook page). Reported 114 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Details are on the post website.
