Arlington post of the American Legion, Post 139. Part of the Seventeenth District of the Department of Virginia. Hosts art exhibitions and live music and runs collaborative mural projects that tell veterans' stories on its own walls, alongside free veteran legal-assistance clinics staffed by George Mason University's law school. The post rents its hall out. Reported 296 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Details are on the post website.
