Pocahontas post of the American Legion, Post 14. Part of the Eighth District of the Department of Virginia. Received its permanent charter June 10, 1922, and by 1924 had bought its own building for $9,000, renting out part of the space for income even in its earliest years. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join

Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Call the post for details.
