American Legion Post 148

Colonial Beach post of the American Legion, Post 148, known as the Westmoreland County Post. Part of the Twelfth District of the Department of Virginia. Chartered September 24, 1932 with 35 founding members, the post ran an annual three-day "American Legion Festival" from 1936 through at least 1947, substituting a wartime Defense Parade for it in 1942-43. Reported 251 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Contact the post by email for details.
