Sterling post of the American Legion, Post 150, known as the Breckenridge-Peters-Wood Post. Part of the Sixteenth District of the Department of Virginia. Maintains a veterans memorial at Sterling Boulevard and Holly Avenue that it is restoring ahead of an approaching 50th-anniversary milestone, and meets at the Loudoun Elks Lodge rather than a Legion-owned hall. Reported 70 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Details are on the post website.
