Emporia post of the American Legion, Post 151. Part of the Fourth District of the Department of Virginia. In 2020 the Greensville County Planning Commission reviewed the post's special-use permit request to build a new home on Liberty Road after news coverage described it as seeking a permanent site to call its own. Reported 55 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Details are on the post website.
