Lynchburg post of the American Legion, Post 16. Part of the Tenth District of the Department of Virginia. Runs a lively daily canteen out of its post home, with Fish Friday specials, karaoke nights, and a recurring 'Queen of Hearts' charity drawing advertised on its own 1.8K-follower Facebook group. Reported 854 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Details are on the post website.
