Grundy post of the American Legion, Post 164, known as the John Ratliff Post. Part of the Eighth District of the Department of Virginia. The post's own hall sits on a road named for it — 1077 Legion Hall Road in Grundy. Reported 218 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
