Part of the Tenth District of the Department of Virginia. Describes itself as the only Veterans Service Organization active in Nelson County, and its hall (the Shipman Civic Center) is listed in Virginia.org's meetings/venue directory as a 2,500-square-foot, ADA-accessible space seating 80 with a full kitchen. The post rents its hall out. Reported 75 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
