American Legion Post 175

Mechanicsville post of the American Legion, Post 175. Part of the Thirteenth District of the Department of Virginia. Chartered September 27, 1945, the post backs 28 named community programs -- including an on-site Honor Garden of personalized memorial bricks, Honor Flight and Dream Flights sponsorship, and Wreaths Across America -- and was recently recognized for reaching 106% membership (121 members). The post rents its hall out. Reported 292 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
Meeting information
Schedule: 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM (general membership); also Tuesday coffee socials, 2nd Tuesday executive committee, 2nd Wednesday potluck, and a community breakfast most last Saturdays

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Details are on the post website.
