American Legion Post 1775

Alexandria post of the American Legion, Post 1775, known as the John M. Fazlollah Post. Part of the Seventeenth District of the Department of Virginia. Headquartered at Alexandria National Cemetery, Post 1775 joins VFW Post 609, American Legion Post 24, and other area veterans' groups each spring for a 'Flags-In' ceremony placing a flag at graves ahead of Memorial Day. Reported 32 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Reach the post through its Facebook page.
