Vienna post of the American Legion, Post 180, known as the Dyer-Gunnell Post. Part of the Seventeenth District of the Department of Virginia. Founded in 1937 as Vienna's oldest community-service organization, Post 180 keeps a red-white-and-blue Nike missile static display next to its flagpole and hosts weekly ALA breakfasts open to the public. The post rents its hall out. Reported 516 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Details are on the post website.
