American Legion Post 184

Herndon post of the American Legion, Post 184, known as the Wayne M. Kidwell Post. Part of the Seventeenth District of the Department of Virginia. Maintains Herndon's Avenue of Flags, more than 60 flags set out on Veterans Day and Memorial Day honoring the town's fallen, and serves as the chartering organization for Herndon's Scout Troop 1570. Reported 157 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
