American Legion Post 1976

Annandale post of the American Legion, Post 1976, known as the Bicentennial Post. Part of the Seventeenth District of the Department of Virginia. Supports a full Legion family under one roof — Sons of the American Legion, Legion Auxiliary, and Legion Riders chapters — and publishes its own governing documents (Constitution, House Rules, By-Laws) directly on its site. The post rents its hall out. Reported 228 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
