Woodstock post of the American Legion, Post 199, known as the Muhlenberg Post. Part of the Fifteenth District of the Department of Virginia. Installed Sharon Allar as commander in a recent officer ceremony, making her only the second female commander in the post's history. Reported 327 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Details are on the post website.
