American Legion Post 245

Galax post of the American Legion, Post 245, known as the Floyd Winfield Williams Memorial Post. Part of the Seventh District of the Department of Virginia. The post has no hall of its own -- it meets at the Galax Public Library -- and as of a July 31, 2026 Galax Gazette community column, anyone interested in joining is still directed straight to Commander Bill Glover's personal phone and email rather than a formal post office. Reported 36 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
