Remington post of the American Legion, Post 247, known as the Remington (Harold J. Davis) Post. Part of the Sixteenth District of the Department of Virginia. Renamed in 2017 to honor Harold J. Davis, a WWII D-Day veteran awarded the Bronze Star and four Purple Hearts; received a temporary charter in January 1946 and its permanent charter on January 24, 1947. The post rents its hall out. Reported 74 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Details are on the post website.
