American Legion Post 25

Newport News post of the American Legion, Post 25, known as the Braxton Perkins Post. Part of the Third District of the Department of Virginia. Founded the Virginia War Museum in 1923, three years after its own August 1919 charter, originally as the American Legion Memorial Museum of Virginia. The post rents its hall out. Reported 328 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
