Gate City post of the American Legion, Post 265, known as the Scott County Veterans Memorial Post. Part of the Eighth District of the Department of Virginia. Registered as a federal vendor (SAM.gov) specifically as the post's color guard, pointing to an active ceremonial-honors program. Reported 52 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
