McLean post of the American Legion, Post 270. Part of the Seventeenth District of the Department of Virginia. Chartered in 1946. Hosted McLean's first-ever Veteran Resource Day in June 2026 with the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, and runs its own Legion Baseball team, coached by Keith Horenstein and Vice Commander Bryan Durkee, playing home games at McLean High School. The post rents its hall out. Reported 308 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Contact the post by email for details.
