American Legion Post 290

Stafford County post of the American Legion, Post 290. Part of the Sixteenth District of the Department of Virginia. Chartered August 3, 1946; fields its own girls' fastpitch softball team (the Post 290 Bombers) and hosts public bingo nights every Wednesday and Friday. Reported 615 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Details are on the post website.
