Leesburg post of the American Legion, Post 34, known as the Leesburg/Johnson/Brent Post. Part of the Sixteenth District of the Department of Virginia. Meets at VFW Post 1177's building rather than a hall of its own, and offers free walk-in appointments to help veterans file VA disability claims. Reported 82 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Details are on the post website.
