Waynesboro post of the American Legion, Post 340, known as the East Augusta County Post. Part of the Fourteenth District of the Department of Virginia. WHSV featured the post's color guard in a February 2026 segment tied to America's 250th-anniversary observances; the post also runs a Boys State program and holds monthly guard-practice sessions, with current leadership including Commander Michele Taylor and 2nd Vice Commander Paul Massie. Reported 88 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
