American Legion Post 36

Altavista post of the American Legion, Post 36, known as the Altavista Memorial Post. Part of the Tenth District of the Department of Virginia. Provides the honor guard and presentation of colors at Altavista community events such as the 2025 National Night Out, and has sponsored Altavista Combined School's delegate to Virginia Boys State. Reported 20 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
