American Legion Post 37

Norfolk post of the American Legion, Post 37. Part of the Second District of the Department of Virginia. Chartered in 1920. Runs an accredited VA Service Officer program (staffed Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 AM-4 PM) that helps local veterans file VA claims, plus a community food pantry. Reported 161 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Details are on the post website.
