American Legion Post 39

Williamsburg post of the American Legion, Post 39. Part of the Third District of the Department of Virginia. Has no post home of its own; meets monthly at Rocco's BBQ on Bypass Road, and traces back to a Labor Day 1919 organizing meeting held by the community of Norge, VA, which chartered as Williamsburg Post No. 39 and was soon merged with Peninsula Post No. 29. Reported 94 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
