American Legion Post 42

Martinsville post of the American Legion, Post 42, known as the Pannill Post. Part of the Sixth District of the Department of Virginia. Sponsors the Martinsville American Legion junior and senior baseball programs; the senior team reached the Virginia American Legion state championship game as runner-up in 2019. Reported 89 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
