American Legion Post 50

Burkeville post of the American Legion, Post 50. Part of the Fifth District of the Department of Virginia. The post's own (now-offline) website indicated the post building was being put up for sale and that the Legion, Sons of the American Legion, and American Legion Riders had relocated their meetings to the Crewe Library while searching for a new home — an active post currently without a hall of its own. Reported 21 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

Schedule: 3rd Thursday of each month, 6:00 PM (per Department roster); the post's own website, before it went offline, stated a move to the 2nd Wednesday at 6:30 PM at the Crewe Library

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Details are on the post website.
