American Legion Post 57

Suffolk post of the American Legion, Post 57, known as the Norman R. Matthews Post. Part of the Fourth District of the Department of Virginia. Holds an annual Memorial Day commemoration jointly with the Suffolk Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution at Monument Park inside Cedar Hill Cemetery, honoring the dead of every war from World War I through Vietnam. Reported 80 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
