Martinsville post of the American Legion, Post 6, known as the Franklin Post. Part of the Sixth District of the Department of Virginia. Chartered in 1946. Reported 31 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Contact the post by email for details.
