Warrenton post of the American Legion, Post 72, known as the John D. Sudduth Post. Part of the Sixteenth District of the Department of Virginia. Runs the Warrenton Rifle Jr. Shooters youth marksmanship program, a Legion Riders chapter, and an annual Father's Day Charity Car Show, and sells memorial pavers for its Veterans Plaza. Reported 445 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Details are on the post website.
