Strasburg post of the American Legion, Post 77, known as the Shenandoah Post. Part of the Fifteenth District of the Department of Virginia. Its grounds carry a Legion-erected war memorial dedicated in 1949, with plaques added in 1967 and after 1975, honoring area veterans of both World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, and every conflict since -- documented with photos on the Historical Marker Database (hmdb.org/m.asp?m=158542) at the post's exact street address. Reported 308 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Contact the post by email for details.
