Strasburg post of the American Legion, Post 77, known as the Shenandoah Post. Part of the Fifteenth District of the Department of Virginia. Its grounds carry a Legion-erected war memorial dedicated in 1949, with plaques added in 1967 and after 1975, honoring area veterans of both World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, and every conflict since -- documented with photos on the Historical Marker Database (hmdb.org/m.asp?m=158542) at the post's exact street address. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
