Saluda post of the American Legion, Post 82, known as the Middlesex (Bristow-Newman-Puller) Post. Part of the Twelfth District of the Department of Virginia. Rededicated in 2013 as Bristow-Newman-Puller Post 82, honoring Medal of Honor recipient Capt. Beryl "Dick" Newman, Lt. Gen. Lewis "Chesty" Puller, and WWII veteran E. Marshall "Pop" Bristow, who donated the Watson Landing land the post now sits on; the post also hosts an annual Four Chaplains memorial service each February. Reported 21 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.

Schedule: 2nd Thursday of each month, 7:00 PM (except Jan. & Feb.)
Location: 192 Watson Landing Road, Saluda, VA 23149
How to join
Membership is open to veterans who served on active duty during a recognised war era and were honourably discharged, and to those still serving. Contact the post by email for details.
