American Legion Post 93

Buchanan post of the American Legion, Post 93, known as the Post 93 – Buchanan Post. Part of the Ninth District of the Department of Virginia. Every Memorial Day since just after World War Two the post has held a riverside ceremony in Buchanan, now in its 79th year, drawing veterans, families, and newcomers together along the James River. Reported 41 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
