Halifax post of the American Legion, Post 99. Part of the Fifth District of the Department of Virginia. The post's Facebook page explicitly advertises hall rental: 'Contact Commander Frank Carr for Membership & Rental information at 434-476-6554.' It also maintains an active Honor Guard, photographed on duty as recently as May 2026. The post rents its hall out. Reported 189 members to the Department in June 2026. Members are wartime veterans who support fellow veterans and their families, run youth and Americanism programs, and take part in community service.
