Amherst chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, part of District III of the Virginia state society. Organized in 1963. Named for Sir Jeffrey Amherst, hero of Ticonderoga and English Governor of Virginia. Revived the name of an earlier Amherst County chapter (1939-1948). The chapter serves its community through historic preservation, education, and patriotic work.

Schedule: Second Tuesday of each month, September through May
How to join
Membership is open to women 18 and older who can document lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution. Membership details are on the chapter website.
