Fairland is located northwest of downtown, abutting Interstate-581, Hershberger Road, and Cove Road. Residents have convenient access to other neighborhoods and parts of the city. Fairland is primarily a single-family neighborhood with most homes built since the 1950s. Villa Heights Park, featuring a recreation/community center in a historical building, is located close by. The Fairland neighborhood also adjoins the Evans Spring property. Roanoke's neighborhood organizations and watch groups are recognized by the city's Office of Neighborhood Services, which publishes them as the way to reach each neighborhood.
