Friends of Pocahontas State Park

A volunteer organization supporting Pocahontas State Park in Chesterfield County, the largest of Virginia's state parks. Members maintain trails, clear litter, lead guided hikes and canoe trips, run interpretive programmes and help stage cultural festivals at the park. Its board meets monthly and its meetings are open.
Meeting information
Schedule: Third Tuesday of each month at 6:45pm at the park Visitors Center, with the option to join by video.

How to join
Register as a volunteer with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, complete a background check and attend a volunteer orientation within the first twelve months of service. There are no dues.
