The Woman's Club of Farmville, GFWC

Woman's club serving Farmville in Prince Edward County. Grew out of the Fortnightly Music Club (organized 1914); reorganized as The Woman's Club of Farmville on May 19, 1920, and celebrated its 100th anniversary in March 2020 (event held at the Farmville Train Station). Donated its historical records to Longwood University's Greenwood Library. In a single year (2019) it presented donations to 18 local charities and causes, including the Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library itself, the VA Free Clinic, Virginia Legal Aid Society, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and the P.E. Rescue Squad. The General Federation of Women's Clubs is a volunteer service organization founded in 1890, and GFWC Virginia federates its clubs across eight districts of the Commonwealth.

Schedule: First Monday of the month; social hour at 2:00 pm, meeting at 2:30 pm.
