Host your event among the ravens and the roses at the historic Poe Museum. Tucked into Richmond's Shockoe Bottom, the Poe Museum offers raw rental access to a one-of-a-kind campus: the Enchanted Garden with its brick-arched Poe Shrine and central fountain, the Old Stone House — the oldest residential building still standing in Richmond — and the surrounding grounds where Pluto and Edgar, the museum's resident black cats, often make appearances. Tiered packages run from two-hour daytime gatherings (up to 25 guests during museum hours, 40 after-hours) to four-hour evening events (up to 75 guests), plus a member-only micro-event option for groups of 20 or fewer. The venue is rented raw: tables, chairs, linens, catering, A/V, and event coordination are arranged separately through approved vendors, giving you the flexibility to shape the event around the setting.

This venue profile is presented with publicly-available information and photographs, unless otherwise provided by the venue. If you are affiliated with this venue and would like to add additional photographs or a custom description, please email [email protected].

About
The Poe Museum

The Poe Museum was founded in 1922 as the Poe Shrine, on a Shockoe Bottom campus anchored by the Old Stone House — the oldest residential building still standing in Richmond. The nonprofit museum holds one of the world's largest collections of Edgar Allan Poe artifacts, manuscripts, and personal effects, and operates the Enchanted Garden, exhibits, public programming, and the resident cats Pluto and Edgar.
