A historic 1882 white-clapboard chapel and its adjacent 1861 farmhouse in rural Northern Powhatan County, rented together for intimate weddings, ceremonies, and community celebrations. The St. James Chapel itself seats up to 100 guests beneath a coffered dark-wood ceiling, with tall Gothic-arched windows and original pine floors. Next door, the Sallie Michaux House provides bridal and groom prep rooms, a retro kitchen, and bathrooms — a complete on-site footprint for a wedding day. Full-weekend access is available, and the open grounds and surrounding farmland make for distinctive ceremony and photography backdrops in any season.

The Michaux-St. James Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving and improving the historical, cultural, and natural resources of Northern Powhatan County. For more than a decade the Foundation has restored and maintained the 1882 St. James Chapel and the 1861 Sallie Michaux House on adjacent grounds, funding the work through venue rentals, community programs, memberships, and donations.
